This is how you go to the Salzburg Christmas market on Domplatz and Residenzplatz

The Salzburg Christmas market is located in the heart of Salzburg's historic old town.

If you come via the motorway (A1, A 8, Tauernautobahn).:

Take the “Salzburg Mitte” exit and head towards the center. Parking is available in the short-term parking zones for up to 3 hours and in the city center parking garages. From the “Mönchsberggarage” car park, for example, you can easily reach the Christmas market on foot.

From the Salzburg-Süd motorway exit you have the following Ways to get to the Christmas market:

Departure Salzburg-Süd/Anif. Direction Salzburg center. Parking is possible at the “Park and Ride-Parkplatz Süd” on Alpenstrasse (on the right, just before you drive under the road bridge at the city entrance). From there take the bus to the city.

If you want to drive into the city by car, please note: Parking is only possible in the short-term parking zone or in parking garages - even with a corresponding walking time to the Christmas market. Direct access to the Christmas market is not possible!

By train:

If you come by train: You can find information about ÖBB timetables at www.oebb.at. The best way to get around Salzburg is to take the trolleybuses.

By local train:

The main connection runs from the local train station under the Salzburg main train station Salzburg local railway every half hour to Lamprechtshausen. Since December 14, 2014 the route has led to Ostermiething. All trains serve the new stops Diepoltsdorf (demand stop) and Ostermiething. With the LEX, the LokalExpress, you have a train during peak times that takes you from Ostermiething to Salzburg or back in 45 minutes.

By trolleybus:

From the main train station, take bus lines 3, 5 or 6 to the “Rathaus” stop. From there it is just a few steps to the Salzburg Christmas market.

With the S-Bahn:
