Kostenlose Öffis – alle Termine 2025

• 28. November – Black Friday
  „Benzinfreitage“: ganztägig im gesamten Bundesland Salzburg kostenlos unterwegs.

• Adventsamstage: 29. November sowie 6., 13. und 20. Dezember 2025
  Kostenlose Nutzung aller SVV-Bus- und Bahnlinien in der Kernzone Salzburg, ganztägig von Betriebsbeginn bis Betriebsschluss.

If you come via the motorway (A1, A 8, Tauernautobahn):

Take the „Salzburg Mitte“ exit and head towards the city centre. Parking is available in the short-term parking zones for up to 3 hours and in the multi-storey car parks in the city centre. From the „Mönchsberggarage“ multi-storey car park, for example, you can easily reach the Christmas market on foot.

From the motorway exit Salzburg-Süd you have the following Possibilities to come to the Christmas market:

Exit Salzburg-Süd/Anif. Direction Salzburg-Centre. Parking is available at the „Park and Ride-Parkplatz Süd“ in Alpenstraße (on the right, just before you pass under the road bridge at the city entrance). From there, take the bus into the city centre.

If you want to drive into the city by car, please note: Parking is only available in the short-term parking zone or in multi-storey car parks - also with a corresponding walking time to the Christmas market. Direct access to the Christmas market is not possible!

By train:

If you are travelling by train: Information on the ÖBB timetables can be found at www.oebb.at. The best way to get around Salzburg is by trolleybus.

With the local railway:

From the local railway station under Salzburg Central Station, the main connection of the Salzburg local railway every half hour to Lamprechtshausen. Since 14 December 2014, the line has run all the way to Ostermiething. All trains serve the new stops at Diepoltsdorf (stop on demand) and Ostermiething. With the LEX, the LokalExpress, you have a train that takes you from Ostermiething to Salzburg or back in 45 minutes during peak times.

With the trolleybus:

From the main railway station, take bus number 3, 5 or 6 to the „Rathaus“ stop, from there it is only a few steps to the Salzburg Christmas Market.

With the S-Bahn:

If you are travelling by S-Bahn, get off at Salzburg Mülln-Altstadt station, from there it is about a 10-minute walk to the Christmas market. Further information on the S-Bahn transport system at www.svv-info.at.
