Your Austria Guide awaits you at the information stand (no. 95) directly in front of the Christmas tree on Residenzplatz. This is where the walk through Christmassy Salzburg begins. You will pass inviting market stalls and learn interesting stories along the way
& historical facts about the Salzburg Christmas Market.

You will also receive tips for your Christmas shopping and discover hidden specialities and traditional arts and crafts. The culinary delights are not neglected on the tour either. You will learn where to find the best delicacies
can enjoy.

Salzburg Cathedral

offers many interesting stories about the origins of Christmas traditions in our region. Discover an alpine nativity scene, a historically interesting baptismal font and a high altar decorated for Christmas with an originally
held Advent wreath.

You will learn more about the origins of Christmas, the meaning of the Advent wreath, how the nativity scene came into our living rooms, about the song „Silent Night, Holy Night“ and much more.

The Christmas tour at the Salzburg Christmas Market offers the following:
1.5-hour city tour, Austria Guide; small, private groups, the best sights of Salzburg's historic city centre, visit to the Salzburg Christmas Market, visit to Salzburg Cathedral, St. Peter's Abbey, visit to the Salzburg Christmas Museum
